Tyres are the most important part of your car. It is these four pieces of rubber that protect you and your vehicle from the road. People often complain that they are expensive but think about how much protection they give you!

At Struans Garage Services we believe in giving you the choice. We sell tyres from all the tyre manufacturers, including Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Continental and Michelin to name just a few, along with a vast stock of mid-range & budget tyres.

Should you require tyres that we do not hold in stock, these can be ordered and often received the same day. All tyres can be fitted while you wait.

If you don't know anything about tyres and the confusing options, we'll be happy to talk you through them. When cost is the main priority, we will recommend the best quality within your budget. For those who decide quality outweighs cost, we will talk you through all the tyre options available.

Winter Tyres

In many parts of mainland Europe it is common, or even a legal requirement, for drivers to keep two sets of tyres – a set of 'summer' tyres and a set of specialist 'winter' tyres. Winter tyres use a tread rubber compound (high silica content) and tread pattern specifically designed to retain flexibility in low temperatures (below +7C) and give good braking/traction performance on snow/ice as well as on wet roads in cold conditions.

All Season Tyres

As an alternative you could consider buying 'All Season Tyres' which also have a high silica content for low temperature flexibility and a tread pattern somewhere between a normal summer tyre and an out-and-out winter tyre. Like all compromises they're unlikely to be as good as the best specialist tyre but can be expected to work better on wintry roads than a summer tyre and you will avoid the hassle and cost of swapping wheels/tyres twice a year.

Runflat Tyres

A run-flat tyre is designed to resist the effects of deflation when punctured, and to enable the vehicle to continue to be driven at reduced speeds. Unfortunately run-flat tyres are not suitable for a puncture repair but here at Struans Garage Services we stock run-flat tyres or can order them for the same day or next day delivery.
